Metaphors, Analogies, and Scaling Strategies (#4)

Description: In order to be an effective scientific communicator, you must be able to get your knowledge and information across to all types of audiences. These audiences typically have less of an understanding of the concept that you are trying to convey, and sometimes by a large margin. Metaphors, analogies, and scaling strategies can be useful tools for scientific experts to relate a complicated topic in words or a situation that most individuals can grasp. Thus, these techniques are heavily relied upon in the scientific community. Below are examples of how I would utilize these tools to help a general audience member understand abstract anatomical concepts of the human body.
