Hi! I am currently a senior attending the University of California, Santa Barbara. I am majoring in Biological Sciences, minoring in Professional Scientific Writing, and hope to one day become a physician. 

Medicine, and oftentimes orthopedic surgery, has been a focal point in my life since high school. I dealt with a couple of semi-traumatic injuries that I had sustained in baseball-- ultimately needing numerous shoulder procedures on both sides. Thankfully, I had an excellent surgeon who would spend lots of time going over imaging and answering questions of mine, which continued to strengthen my passion in the field. Now, I bring those experiences of being a patient in the operating chair with me as I traverse through the last two quarters of undergrad, medical school, and beyond. 

Another great interest of mine is to communicate medical science and research to the public through writing, journaling, blogging, and more mediums. One thing that the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed was the lack of effective communication between science professionals and the public. Additionally, the spread of misinformation is rampant amongst society as a whole. Through continued learning on how to effectively write to all audiences, I wish to help bridge this gap.
